Visit of World Bank Country Director for Turkey to the TCA


President of the TCA, Seyit Ahmet BAŞ, welcomed the World Bank Country Director for Turkey Auguste Tano KOUAME and the accompanying delegation in his office on 30 September 2019. In the meeting, President BAŞ explained the new process that started with the audit methodology in the framework of the new TCA Law accepted in 2010 and the historical development of the TCA. Mr. KOUAME, who was assigned to his office in Turkey four months ago, talked about the issues regarding how the World Bank can contribute to the development of the SAIs.

Various projects realized between the TCA and World Bank in the last period were discussed in the meeting, as well as contributions that the World Bank will provide for the TCA in the new project process that will start in March 2020. President BAŞ mentioned that they could work in collaboration with the World Bank in the areas of expert assistance in the field of performance audit, Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the existing movement of migration to our country and neighboring countries.

World Bank officials stated that the said issues would be evaluated in the framework of the future program. At the end of the meeting, President BAŞ presented the head of the visiting delegation with a Divan-ı Muhasebat (Court of Accounts) plate, which was based on the first plaque used by the Court of Accounts established by the imperial order of Sultan Abdulaziz Han on 29 May 1862.
